Taking the step to reach out for help can be tough. I aim to provide a safe, inviting, and supportive space for my clients to heal and grow towards their goals. Therapy is meant to be a collaborative process between therapist and client. I work with individuals, couples and families with ages ranging from older adults to children. I have special interest in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, sexual identity issues, family issues, and trauma. I enjoy working with children and adolescents that have ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and need for emotion education and emotion regulation skills. An essential beginning step in the therapy process is to build a positive relationship between client and therapist. Person-Centered Therapy is a foundation that is rooted in the importance of this relationship. I may use interventions such as mindfulness, play therapy, self-compassion, and emotion-regulation skills to help clients reach their goals. My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I may use pieces of different theories to offer a unique and individualized therapy experience. I believe for therapy to be the most beneficial, we will co-create goals based on the presenting concerns. I am optimistic that with a positive therapeutic relationship change can happen.

I specialize in trauma (PTSD), perinatal disorders, and couples counseling using a wide range of evidence-based modalities, including both cognitive (“talk therapy”) and neuro-based approaches (EMDR, etc.). Trauma, such as childhood abuse or neglect, sexual violence, domestic violence, etc., can create chaos in many areas of your life, including relationships, parenting, work/school performance, and even your physical health. My goal is to provide a warm and compassionate space where we can explore not just the trauma itself, but also how it intersects with other issues and patterns in your life. In addition to trauma, my other passion is perinatal disorders such as postpartum depression, childbirth trauma, miscarriage/stillbirth, and infertility. Before becoming a therapist, I was a birth professional for 10+ years, giving me extensive insight into the challenges of pregnancy, birth, new parenthood, and relationship changes in the childbearing year. I also enjoy working with couples struggling with communication and trust issues, infidelity, life transitions, parenting/co-parenting, navigating a separation or divorce, or exploring reconciliation. I am attuned to the ways one/both partner's mental health concerns affect the relationship dynamic, and the needs of partners trying to support their partner.

I work with adults who are in highly stressful professions but who are also often in need of being seen and understood as persons with identities outside of their professional roles. Many of my clients have hidden depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and relationship stressors. I have over thirty years of experience in helping individuals reach healthy solutions to their complex problems. I provide a safe place to explore the many facets of my clients' complex identities. My main area of specialization is with professionals who experience compassion fatigue/vicarious trauma. Careers that expose people to trauma all take a significant toll on a person's mental health, and our work will focus on helping you heal and find a sustainable path forward. I work with clients using an integrated approach to help you believe in your own resiliency. My style is collaborative and empowering. Our therapy will be based upon building a solid, safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. My approach is gentle, while also persistent and steady as we invest in our work together.
